Preparation
In saucepan, bring water, wild rice and salt to boil over high heat. reduce heat, cover and simmer until most of the rice is split and tender, about 45 minutes
Remove rice from heat and let stand, covered, for 5 minutes. Drain. (Make-ahead: let cool for 30 minutes; refrigerate in airtight container for up to 2 days.)
