Decadent Chocolate Fudge Brownies

Rich, dark and moist, these brownies are the ultimate treat for chocolate lovers.
- 3 oz 3ozbittersweet chocolate, chopped
- 1/2 cup 1/2cupbutter
- 1 cup 1cupgranulated sugar
- 2 2eggeggs
- 1 1egg yolkegg yolks
- 1 tsp 1tspvanilla
- 2/3 cup 2/3cupall purpose flour
- 1/4 cup 1/4cupcocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp 1/2tspbaking powder
- 1/4 tsp 1/4tspsalt
- 1 cup 1cupsemisweet chocolate chips
In heatproof bowl over saucepan of hot (not boiling) water, melt chocolate with butter; let cool. Stir in sugar, eggs, egg yolk and vanilla until smooth.
In separate bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa, baking powder and salt; stir into chocolate mixture until combined. Stir in chocolate chips. Spread in parchment paper–lined 8-inch (2 L) square metal cake pan.
Bake in 350°F (180°C) oven until cake tester inserted in centre comes out with a few moist crumbs clinging, 25 minutes. Let cool in pan on rack. (Make-ahead: Wrap and store for up to 2 days.) Cut into squares.
