Lemon Orangeade
On many a hot summer day, this cool, refreshing twist on classic lemonade will have both young and old coming back for more.

Suggested Recipes

1 each lemon and/or lime and small orange
8 cups (2 L) cold water
4 cups (1 L) ice cubes
Lemon-Orange Syrup:
1-1/4 cups (300 mL) granulated sugar
1 cup (250 mL) cold water
1 tbsp (15 mL) grated lemon rind
1 tbsp (15 mL) grated orange rind
1/3 cup (75 mL) lemon juice
1/4 cup (50 mL) orange juice
Preparation:
Lemon-Orange Syrup: In saucepan, bring granulated sugar, water, lemon and orange rinds and lemon and orange juices to boil; reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Let syrup cool completely. (Make-ahead: Refrigerate in airtight container for up to 2 weeks.)
Meanwhile, scrub lemon, lime and orange well; cut into thin slices.
In large pitcher, stir together cold water, ice cubes and lemon-orange syrup. Stir in sliced fruit.
