Maple Walnut Multigrain Porridge

Delicious additions make porridge a perfect pick for brisk mornings.

Servings: 4

Ingredients:

    3 cups (750 mL) milk
    1/2 tsp (2 mL) salt
    1 cup (250 mL) multigrain cereal (such as Red River or Sunny Boy)
    1/2 cup (125 mL) chopped walnuts
    2 tbsp (25 mL) maple syrup
    1 tsp (5 mL) vanilla

Preparation:

In saucepan, bring milk and salt to boil. Whisk in cereal, walnuts, maple syrup and vanilla; reduce heat and simmer, whisking constantly, for 6 to 7 minutes or until desired thickness.
