This rich liqueur has an intense flavour that coffee lovers will savour. Sip it on its own or in mixed drinks, such as a White Russian Cocktail.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brewed espresso
  • 12 oz white rum
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Method

In saucepan, bring sugar and espresso to boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved; boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat; let stand for 10 minutes.

Stir in rum and vanilla; pour into jars and seal. (Make-ahead: Store in cool, dark place for up to 3 months.)
