Method

Garlic & Miso Butter: In small bowl, whisk together butter, garlic, miso paste, lime juice, maple syrup and rice vinegar. Season with salt and pepper; set aside.

Green Beans: In large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Add green beans and cook, without stirring, until beans are browned, 2 to 3 minutes; stir. Continue cooking, stirring occasionally, until beans are tender-crisp, 8 to 10 minutes.

Remove skillet from heat and add Garlic & Miso Butter, tossing gently to coat. Season with salt and pepper. Transfer to serving platter and garnish with fresh cilantro and sesame seeds, if using.

 

TEST KITCHEN TIP

Miso can be found with the refrigerated organic products of most supermarkets. There are different types of miso; generally speaking, the darker it is, the stronger the flavour will be.
