MethodIn bowl, beat butter with sugar until fluffy. In small bowl, dissolve espresso powder in vanilla; stir into butter mixture. Stir in flour and salt.
Using piping bag fitted with 1/2-inch (1 cm) star tip, pipe cookies, about 2 inches (5 cm) apart, onto parchment paper–lined baking sheets.
Garnish: Top each with coffee bean.
Bake in 325°F (160°C) oven until golden on bottoms, about 15 minutes. Let cool on pans for 2 minutes. Transfer to racks; let cool completely.
