Mellow yogurt teams with exotic spices to give an Indian flair to this marinade, which is suited to chicken and lamb. Red colouring is often added to give the iconic red hue, but we chose to omit it here.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cups 2% plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cracked black pepper

Method

In bowl, whisk together yogurt, cilantro, lemon juice, garlic, ginger, garam masala, paprika, salt and pepper.
