School Dance Program is No Jive

A new dance program is changing the way kids think about fitness.

A new fitness trend is poised to take off at schools across the country.

All elementary school teachers In Canada will soon receive the Aero-Pop Making Movin' Fun dance-fitness program that promises to change the way kids think about dance, exercise and physical education in general. The program includes a video that demonstrates the simplicity of the steps and various completed routines.

To help inject a spirit of fun and excitement into the dance curriculum, a group of enthusiastic young people will visit various schools across the country to demonstrate the dance steps. Schools will be encouraged to put together their own dance routines and compete against other schools for prizes.

The program was put together by the Canadian Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.

Watch the videoclip below for a brief introduction to the curriculum video from the Aero-Pop Movin' Groovin' school program. (You will need the Quicktime plugin to view the video clip. Click here to download. Click here for troubleshooting.)
