Starting to feel a sore throat coming on? Assemble these ingredients and let steep in a mug:

• sprig of thyme
• lemon wedge
• a few slices of gingerroot
• a few peppercorns
• a clove of garlic (optional)

Let steep in a cup of boiling water for five to 10 minutes before drinking.

It doesn't sound very good, but Susan swears by it – and insists that it tastes great, too (we're not so sure).
