Your ultimate guide to understanding diabetes
According to the Canadian Diabetes Association, there are over 9 million Canadians living with diabetes or prediabetes. Diabetes is a chronic disease that is caused by the body's inability to produce insulin, or the body's resistance to insulin.

There are three main types of diabetes:
Type 1, where the body creates little or no insulin.
Type 2, where the body can create insulin, but is unable to use it.
Gestational diabetes occurs when the body is unable to produce insulin during pregnancy. Though usually a temporary condition, it increases the risk of the mother and child developing diabetes.

We've compiled some great diabetes information. Discover the symptoms, causes and treatment for diabetes, find great, up-to-date information on living with diabetes, and click through our top Tested-Till-Perfect diabetes-friendly recipes.
