This family tree will help you to better understand the lineage that links Queen Victoria to Queen Elizabeth II and her many heirs. This diagram does not include all the descendants of the royal family, as it was customary for the royal family to intermarry their cousins.

It should be noted that the name Windsor was adopted by King George V during the First World War to replace the name Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, too German for his taste. The name Battenberg became Mountbatten during the same period.
