April Fools' Day is not a national holiday, but is widely recognized and celebrated in various countries as a day when people play practical jokes and hoaxes on each other. Last year, I decided to put a few drops of food colouring in the milk carton. I waited in the kitchen for my first victim. My colour deficient son walked in, poured the milk into his bowl of cereal and then...nothing...he just ate it. He didn't notice a thing. It's safe to say, I pulled that prank on the wrong kid! I need to kick it up a notch this year. I was curious as to what kinds of pranks you've pulled or had pulled on you so last Thursday we posted this question on the Canadian Living facebook page - "April Fool's Day is just around the corner. What's the best prank you've ever pulled or had pulled on you?" Here are a few of your hilarious responses. I took a label off an air freshener can and put it on an air horn. Put it in the staff washroom. Roflmao./Shelley Gosselin Our boss always went right to her office when she got in - we all, at intervals, from our desks, called in sick - she came running out of her office in a panic...too funny./Debra McLean Cottage cheese in a glass of milk at breakfast. The lumps get him every time./Lynn Pike Worked at a school. Stapled all the sleeves shut of the yard assistants just before lunch. As the kids streamed out the door, the assistants couldn't get their coats on (they went out and took the staples out in the yard while on duty and pretty cold)./Sandra Brawley I told my husband I was pregnant with our third...after we very much decided together to stop at two./Susannah Teney Putting 4 sheep in a school and numbering them 1,2,3,5. LOL. Try finding number 4./Amy Evans When the kids were young, around 6 and 7, we crunched up potato chips and put in their Dad's workboots! They were soo funny! They thought they had pulled the greatest trick on their Dad./Toni McEathron I went into labour ten days early at two in the morning on April 1, 1990. Did God pull a prank on me...No, he blessed me with the best daughter in the world. Love you Deborah./Lois E. Fisk Thank you, facebook friends, for all your great ideas. Hope your April Fools' Day is filled with foolish meals and harmless pranks. Which prank should I pull on my kids this year?
