When it comes to cosmetics, choice is wonderful -- but it can also be overwhelming. When you're standing in the cosmetics section, whether at a large department store or at your local drugstore, it can be hard to decide which products to try. So we've decided to test drive some makeup bag essentials to help you make your decision. This week, we've tested eye creams and here are the results:
Lancome, Resolution Eye, $65.00
I really like this product. I love the scent and the ease of application. The texture is creamy but not greasy. It feels cool and soothing on the skin and really eases any tension or stress you feel around your eyes. As for the overall results, I found that this product reduces dullness in the skin around the eyes and leaves your skin feeling hydrated and healthy. And I must comment on the packaging -- it's lovely and makes a wonderful addition to your bathroom counter!

This eye cream leaves your skin silky smooth. Its creamy texture is nice and it distributes easily with minimal pulling and tugging. It's not too greasy and is pleasantly scented. This product is beautifully packaged but it's surprising how little product is actually buried in the pretty blue container. It comes with a plastic applicator that you dip into the cream and dab onto your brow bone, under your eye and on the outer corner of your eye. I could do without the applicator as it slows down the process but overall, I like the results.

The eye cream's fresh scent and rich texture really made me feel like I was pampering the skin around my eyes. It left my skin feeling hydrated and smooth. It was a little greasier than the Estee Lauder product but my skin also felt more moisturized. I would definitely recommend this product to others.

Estee Lauder, Advanced Night Repair Eye Recovery Complex, $65.00
This eye cream was lovely to put on my face in the evening. Its cool and refreshing gel-like texture felt delightful on my skin. Although the bottle is tiny (only 15mL), you quickly realize just how far a little of this product goes. The tiniest amount spreads smoothly and evenly around the eye area, so be sure to use it sparingly. I found that it felt wonderful on my skin and after only a few uses, my eye area seemed brighter.
When I need added moisture, I'd opt for this eye cream. It smooths on easily and leaves a nice feeling of soft, supple skin without a greasy residue. It's perfect for those cold winter days when the icy wind hits your face and you want to soothe your skin. Dab some of this cream on and you'll instantly revive your eye area.
I found this eye cream to be quick-absorbing and a treat for my eyes. Its light fragrance and nongreasy texture would make it a nice addition to any skin-care regime. The applicator that accompanies the cream is handy for helping to avoid using more of the product than necessary.

Red Earth Hydro'pure, $36.00
This product performed well overall. It goes on light and doesn't feel heavy or greasy, although I found that it took a little longer to rub in than the Estee Lauder and Lancome products (which means a little more tugging around the eye area). The product itself is infused with spring water and plant extracts from the French Alps and has a nice, mild scent. Overall, I'm not sure that the results are as visible as the two other products we tested but I did notice that my skin felt refreshed even if it was not quite so visible an
This moisturizer has a nice light gel-like consistency. It glides on smoothly so you don't have to pull the delicate skin surrounding your eyes in order to distribute the product evenly. There's no greasy feeling after application as the lotion seeps into your skin and you forget it's there. I'd use this product as a daytime under-eye cream because I prefer light moisturizers instead of heavy creams on my face as I'm ready to start the day.
