When heading into the kitchen with small kids, it's best to keep the ingredients simple and the prep minimal. These crunchy, chewy chocolate clusters need just five ingredients and 10 minutes of prep, so they're the perfect choice for a quick afternoon treat.

  • Prep time 10 minutes
  • Total time 40 minutes

In heatproof bowl set over saucepan of hot (not boiling) water, melt chocolate. Stir in almonds, blueberries, cranberries and sunflower seeds to coat.

Drop by 1 tbsp onto waxed or parchment paper–lined baking sheets; refrigerate until firm, about 30 minutes. (Make-ahead: Layer between waxed paper in airtight container; store for up to 1 week.)

Tip from The Test Kitchen: If you're making these for gifting, set the clusters in small paper muffin liners. This will help ensure that they're a uniform size for packing in gift boxes.

Makes about 26 pieces.
