8 items that will make your Thanksgiving memorable
Of course, the Thanksgiving menu deserves to be fussed over—but so do the decor and extra little touches that make the occasion memorable. Scroll down for eight items that will ensure you're deemed best hostess and this turkey day is one for the books.
1. Craft paper runner
Forgo the white tablecloth that's inevitably wine-stained before the turkey even hits the table (ahem, here's looking at you cousin Mike). Use a roll of kraft paper as a stand-in for a laid-back table runner. Remember to provide white paint markers for doodling or prompt guests to jot down reasons they're thankful. Best of all, clean up is a snap!
2. Festive gourds
Though nothing beats a glowing Jack-O-Lantern, we're loving this boho—okay, fine less-messy—version that needs little more than chalk paint and a paint pen. This craft also means you can buy up all those misshaped and discoloured pumpkins that are overlooked in the patch. Win-Win.
3. Vintage dishware
We adore any trend that makes use of what you have on hand—like the idea of using mismatched vintage plates for your tablescape. Upcycle your own dishware or hit up a flea market to complete the shabby-chic look. If you're wary of breaking free from the matching dinnerware mould, choose china with the same colour scheme and keep the rest of the décor monochromatic.
