If you're making this recipe ahead of time, choose a large shallow ovenproof dish, which will decrease the time needed to warm it in the oven while the turkey is resting.
Our retro version of this chili sauce, which first appeared in our November 1990 issue, called for canned tomatoes; here, we've used fresh instead for an intensified taste. To strike the perfect balance between sweet and spicy, you may want to add more sugar, depending on how sweet the tomatoes are.
This vegetable and chickpea couscous fills you up without filling you out. Chickpeas are high in fibre and iron, and the prunes add a hint of natural sweetness, which makes this all-in-one dish feel indulgent.
Leftovers from a turkey dinner are inevitable, and pot pie is a delicious way to serve them. Apples add sweetness to this not-so-traditional version and complement the easy topping.
