Peeling and seeding tomatoes may take time, but fresh homemade tomato sauce is worth the effort. Firm, ripe plum tomatoes are the best choice for this sauce, and if you grow them in your garden, even better!
For gift giving, pour the sauce into hot, sterilized preserving jars that lend a made-with-love look and show off the sauce.
Marinades are usually acid-oil blends used not only to flavour but also to tenderize meats. Use overnight on marinating steaks to tenderize and on grilling steaks or chicken overnight. Or use for just a few minutes or up to 1 day to add flavour.
